Hide browsing history with web proxies

One fairly common reason why people use web proxies is to not leave tracks in the web history of their web browser about the websites that they visit. Using our web proxies encoding urls is enabled as a default option, and this means that the real url you are visitng will not show up anywhere. All you will see in your browsing history is a lot of page requests from our domain.

We do believe in internet privacy and the right of people to browse internet anonymously, that is why we have the encoded url option on as a default. If you for some reason want the real url you are visiting to show up in the url bar you can choose to turn this option off. Even with encoded urls on however, we do suggest clearing your web history and cookies before and after each browsing session to stay anonymous.

How to use our Web Proxies

Using our web proxies is easy, all you have to do is to type the url you want to go to in the text box on the bottom of the home page and click go. Our web proxy will then go and fetch the website you want and send it to you. For the owner of the website it will seem like the visitor is coming from our IP, and you will stay anonymous.

By default our web proxies will encode the urls you visit. That means that noone looking through your web history can find out which websites you have visited. I suggest you leave the other settings of our web proxy at the default value. Continue reading →

About IP-addresses

An IP address is usually a numerical label assigned to a device in a computer network that uses the internet protocol for communication. IP stands for internet protocol, so IP address is also referred to as an Internet Protocol address. The IP address was designed to allow one computer to communicate with another using the internet.

Today an IP address consist of four numbers, ranging from 0 to 255. This is the numbers that you as a user will see, and they are often stored in text files in this format, but they are used as binary numbers. They were originally defined as a 32-bit number by the designers of the internet protocol, but in 1998 a new system, the IPv6, was standarized. Proxy toplists

Proxy toplists are web sites that keep lists of currently active web proxies. We have our own proxy toplist at MillionProxies.com, where we list web proxies ranked by speed. All the web proxies listed there should work for Facebook and YouTube, and we really hope you like our web proxy toplist at MillionProxies.com and use the proxies listed there.

Another very good proxy toplist is proxy4free.org, they keep their web proxy list pretty well updated and focus on listing proxies there that loads quickly with very few ads on them. When choosing a web proxy use I suggest to avoid any website ending with .tk or .co.cc, as they often filled up with lots of popups and spam, .info, .com or .org domains tend to be good. Why use a web proxy?

There are several reasons why people choose to use web proxies. The two most common reasons however is to get around network restrictions and staying anonymous online. Many people don’t feel comfortable giving away information about themselves to every website they visit, like you are doing when you are surfing the internet from your web browser without using a proxy.

Most webmasters use analytics software to track their traffic, and it is easy to find out which IP address your visitors are coming from. Once you know someone’s IP address it is fairly easy to find out where they are located, at least where their internet service provider is located. If you use our web proxies however, your real IP address remains hidden, all the webmasters of the websites you visit will see is the IP address of the web proxy you use. Continue reading →
