Why use a web proxy?

There are several reasons why people choose to use web proxies. The two most common reasons however is to get around network restrictions and staying anonymous online. Many people don’t feel comfortable giving away information about themselves to every website they visit, like you are doing when you are surfing the internet from your web browser without using a proxy.

Most webmasters use analytics software to track their traffic, and it is easy to find out which IP address your visitors are coming from. Once you know someone’s IP address it is fairly easy to find out where they are located, at least where their internet service provider is located. If you use our web proxies however, your real IP address remains hidden, all the webmasters of the websites you visit will see is the IP address of the web proxy you use.

Another reason people use web proxies is to get access to websites that are blocked by their network settings. Often this will be people trying to access Facebook from their school or workplace, you can use or web proxies to do this, it is up to you to decide if it is a good idea to spend your time on Facebook during work hours. In many countries internet is also heavily censored, using our web proxies you may be able to get access to websites that would otherwise be blocked in your country.

We do not condone using web proxies for any illegal activities and any use of our web proxies is at your own risk. We do however believe in an open and free internet, and people’s right to privacy online.
